COLNE and Nelson Under 12s produced their best performance of the season to beat a good Burnley side 35-12.

Colne dominated the first half with an impressive forward display, well marshalled by vice captain Rory Towers.

There was good distribution between forwards and backs with the newly formed nine and 10 partnership of Zet Piliso and Robbie Payne leading to Colne going into half-time with a 21-5 lead.

Burnley came back strongly, scoring midway through the second half, but with a second try from Payne and a third from man of the match Josh Atkinson, Colne earned an impressive win.

It was hard to single anybody out in a great team performance.

Colne and Nelson Under 9s won a hard-fought match, beating Burnley by eight tries to five.

The Colne tries were scored by Jake Saggers (2), Harry Bleasedale (2) and Hayden Atkinson (4).

The game was evenly matched until two late tries by Bleasedale.

The difference between the two sides was a fantastic performance from Atkinson, and a man of the match performance from captain Saggers.
