Young biker Sam Edwards is riding high after winning two championships riding his Aprilia RRV 450.
The Fisher More pupil, who turned 16 at the beginning of the month, broke six lap records on his way to the wins and has been awarded the NW Junior ACU Rider of the Year for the third year in a row.
Sam, who has been racing motorbikes since the age of five years old, raced at several clubs this year and won races with North Gloucester at Donington Park and Oulton Park setting new lap records for his class at both circuits.
Preston and District compete at the 3 Sisters circuit in Wigan is Sam’s home track but missed the first round as he was racing else where.
He won 10 out of 12 races that he entered coming second in the two he didn’t win in the 350cc-750cc class.
The championship wasn’t decided until the last race of the season with Sam needing to win the race to confirm the title, which he did, breaking the lap record which he set last year.
He also entered the up to 500cc class in which he won 12 out of the 12 races he entered, also breaking the lap record for this class.
None of this would be possible without the support of A. P. Broome Landscapes, Insurefit Vehicle Installations, Duncan Edwards Painters and Decorators, Barrowford Slimming World and Fisher More High School.
