Colne badminton players represent county

THE Lancashire Over 60s’ team beat their Yorkshire counterparts 7-5 - with the help of two Colne players - in a Masters badminton event.

Having just become eligible, Sue and Paul Webber were selected to play in this prestigious encounter, and helped to bring the team home for an excellent win.

This married couple have played for Colne Badminton Club for many years, in all the local and district leagues, and have innumerable successes to their names.

Sue said “We thoroughly enjoyed the match, it was great.”

Paul, who is a coach at Colne Badminton Club, added: “We met and beat some players high up in the English rankings, it was a fantastic day.”
