Lamb B one point clear at the top
JAMES Waddington had a break of 52 for Lamb B, who are one point clear at the top of the Nelson and District Semi-Snooker League First Division after a 3-2 away win over second placed St Andrew’s.
Also in second position are Lamb A, who gained a 3-2 home win over Old Band A, for whom Andy Marshall had a run of 37 in the deciding frame, only to lose out to an in-form John Titherington.
Jason Lee had a run of 43 for Dressers E, who ended up 3-2 winners away to Liberal A, who remain in fourth spot, while Worsthorne share fourth place as well after a 4-1 away win over Paradise A, for whom Eric Catlow won the opening frame with a break of 56.
Elsewhere John Lanceley had a break of 54 for Alexandra in their 4-1 home win over Briercliffe, whilst up at the Gravel it went down to the deciding frame between the A and B side, with Howard Dove sinking the blue, pink and black to outpoint Phil Hasrrison in a nail-biting finish for a 3-2 win for Poultry A.
In the Second Division, Paul Atherton had a break of 30 for Paradise B, who are back out in front after a 4-1 away win over Dressers D, for whom Richard Crew had a run of 27, only to be outpointed by Steve Smith, who ran out on the colours.
Also in joint top place is Carters A, for whom Dave Mathews had a run of 38 and Glyn Skelton a run of 34 in their 4-1 home win over St Andrew’s B, whose only winner was Chris Reid with a break of 33. Old Band B were on form and pulled off a 4-1 home win over White Lea Head, which puts the teams fourth and third respectively.
Molly’s B ran out 3-2 home winners over Nelson Golf Club, for whom Simon Galloway had a run of 34, and there were 3-2 home wins for David Street A and Shorthomers B over Byerden House and Liberal C respectively.
In the Third Division, Harry Ingham had a break of 48 for Burnley Miners to keep them in pole position with a four-point lead at the top after a 4-1 away win over Dressers B. Closely behind are Old Band C, who gained a 4-1 home win over Molly’s A, while Shorthomers D pulled off a 3-2 away win at Poultry D to keep them in third.
Shorthomers C are fourth after a 3-2 home win over Lamb D, and Foulridge’s latest win came with a a 3-2 success at Carters D, while Lamb C overcame David Street B with a 3-2 home win.
