Earby extended their 100% start in the Ribblesdale League, beating Brooksbottom, a week after their cup exit at the Bury side.

Brooksbottom won the toss and invited Earby to bat, and Matt Wilson departed with just two on the board.

Professional Dave Crotty and Chris Walton both scored steadily against Iain Collier and the economic David Brown, and the score had moved onto 40 when Brown had Crotty caught for 15. Jake Greenbank kept Walton company until the opener was dismissed for 36.

Matt Haines got his season off to a start with 30 adding 50 with skipper Richard Craddock, before he went with the score on 123. Only three overs remained, with the tail adding 27, Lee Parkinson not out on 11 and Craddock 21.

In reply, Brooksbottom never looked comfortable against Craddock and Clarkson - 1o overs in they were 23-3, and three over later they were 27-5. Craddock had four victims for just six runs.

Brooksbottom captain Julian Marcroft joined Filkins and adding 24 before Crotty bowled Marcroft for 19, and then removed the next two for ducks. Once Walton removed Filkins for 34, the result was inevitable, and Craddock sealed victory to finish with 5-16, and Crotty 3-17.

Earby have no game this weekend.
