Photogenic pets have been crowned the top dogs of a Pendle store’s annual competition.

Stell’s Famous Pet Store, in Norfolk Street, Colne, has once again hosted its Dog Portrait Competition to find the best looking dogs in the borough.

Around 40 dogs were entered, with 14-week-old Bulldog puppy Mia coming out as the overall winner. Mia’s owner Jamie Ellis and his girlfriend Shauna Starr collected a larger than life framed wall portrait.

Second prize went to Bella, whose owner Sameena Rashid received a framed portrait and Stell’s Store Voucher.

And third prize went to Rough Collie Charlie, whose owners Susan and Stephen Gibbons were presented with a series of three prints and a store voucher.

Peter Jagger, from Stell’s Famous Pet Store, said: “The competition was a great success. We had a really busy weekend in the shop with dogs of all shapes and sizes turning up to be photographed. It was great fun and everyone enjoyed it, dogs, owners and staff.

“Colin our photographer, from Sycamore Studios, in Skipton, was kept extremely busy and captured some fantastic shots of the dogs. With such a high quality entry, our judges had a very tough job.”
