Two Pendle artists – Sabah Arbilli and Shahida Ahmed – have been selected to demonstrate their work in Washington USA.
They have been selected by a special events committee panel to exhibit at ISNA’s 50th annual convention, which is taking place this week.
The conference has more than 10,000 guests with key figures from all over the world delivering speeches in the conference. It is taking place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Mount Vernon Place, Washington DC.
Shahida said: “As artists, we feel proud to represent art at such an international level and to have been selected from a group of other international artists.
“We feel passionate about art and are thrilled to be at the convention in Washington. We will proudly represent Pendle there – and share our works with all the visitors.
“Both Sabah and I have been busy with exhibiting in Qatar and now we are across the other side of the world.”
Shahida’s work has also been shortlisted for an exhibition in London next year. While Sabah will be working on commissions and projects in the Middle East with calligraphy design in architecture.
Shahida added: “It has been a productive creative year and we have received a lot of local support from Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson and the community we live in.”
Shahida has been a highly successful international artist, congratulated by both Prince Charles and Prime Minister David Cameron. Sabah has also been pictured chatting with the Prince!
Sabah Arbilli is his artist name – his real name is Sabah Maghded Bapir.
He is also rapidly becoming a great international art star. Both artists live in Pendle and have their art studios in Barrowford, but their work is on show all over the world now!.
