A MILL, which has been classed as a Colne “problem building” for years, will be knocked down by June.
The Colne Times can confirm that Pendle Council have now accepted prior notification of proposed demolition for Oak Mill, in Skipton Road.
The request had been made from owners Gallon Ltd, who were struggling financially to repair the building.
In February, the company was fined £600 by Pennine magistrates, and ordered to pay £276 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge for the state of disrepair the mill was in.
It is expected that work will start on the demolition next month.
