IT won’t be long before the people of Pendle descend on Barrowford for one of the biggest shows in the calendar year.
Barrowford Show is only a matter of weeks away and organisers are launching an abundance of exciting attractions and sections and want you to get involved!
On Bank Holiday weekend - Sunday, August 28th, the show will get underway and it is set to be even bigger than the last.
With an amazing stunt act, live fire displays and show jumping and horticulture both back by popular demand, there really is lots going on.
And organisers have been busy working on the schedule for this year’s Children’s Section.
It is now ready and will be going out to schools, youth groups and libraries and will also be available on the website so you can download an entry form.
There are numerous categories to interest all age groups, including baking, gardening and arts and crafts.
This year the theme for the paintings and drawings will be Barrowford Park and for collages it will be the jungle.
And new for this year there will be a “Children Can Dance” competition as well as a kids fancy dress competition and Willy Wonka tombola.
Burnley Football Club will be attending the show and providing entertainment from guest star Bertie Bee. Nelson Library has also got involved and will be running a teddy bear treasure hunt and teddy bear crafts.
Once again, William Reed Weaving has agreed to sponsor the Children’s Section and the Barrowford Show Committee would like to thank the managing director John Reed.
Tickets for the event will be on sale from the beginning of July from outlets in Barrowford and via the website www.barrowford-show.co.uk where more details and entry forms can be downloaded.
