A group of Barnoldswick volunteers are making Christmas an inclusive event again by hosting a Home Alone dinner on December 25th.
The Rev. Norman Cumming and wife Ingrid are hosting the dinner at St Joseph’s Community Centre in Bolland Street under the banner of Hope Barlick church group.
The Hope Barlick church group have laid on a dinner each Christmas for many years and aim to add a bit of comfort, sparkle and warmth to somebody’s day who would otherwise be alone.
Mr Cumming said: “We helped out last year and for the last few years there have been up to 20 people at its best. This year we are in charge for the first time.
“Our own family live in America so we are not able to be together at Christmas time, and that means we are free.
“For the people who come, it’s a chance to meet folks they can talk to and get to know and there will be a bit of entertainment as an added extra.
“Christmas can be a lonely time for people who live on their own and this is a really nice opportunity to have a meal around the same table as others.”
To book your place and for further information, call Mr and Mrs Cumming on 01282 787997 or alternatively call Jackie Williamson on 01282 844870.
You need to have booked your place by Saturday, December 20th.
