Cast members from “Emmerdale” wheeled into Hope Technology’s Barnoldswick factory earlier this month as nine members of the soap prepare to saddle up for a Manchester cycling challenge this weekend.

The group enjoyed a tour of the mill and met staff while collecting their Hope bicycles and equipment which the Calf Hall Road company has loaned to them for Sunday’s Great Manchester Cycle.

They included Jeff Hordley who plays bad boy Cain Dingle in the ITV soap, Liam Fox who’s role is Dan Spencer, Nicola Wheeler who played Nicola King and Michelle Hardwick who plays village vet Vanessa Woodfield.

“Emmerdale” stars in Sunday’s line-up include Rik Makarem, Kelvin Fletcher, Liam Fox, James Hooton, Nicola Wheeler, Zoe Henry, Michelle Hardwick, Jeff Hordley and Jason Merrells.

Team Emmerdale’s tenth member will be the programme’s director, Steve November, as the group raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Some of the cast members will also be using Hope bikes for a second charity ride in London next month.

On the visit to Hope, co-owner Ian Weatherill, said: “All the staff were really excited to meet the cast. They were joking ‘this is better than David Cameron’s visit’”.
