BOY band sensations The Wanted are the latest big name set for Burnley’s star-studded Soccer Six tournament.
The chart-topping five-piece, who hit the number one spot last year with “All Time Low”, will be looking to score a few more hits when they take to the hallowed Turf Moor pitch on Sunday, June 5th.
A host of celebrities have already been added to the big-name team sheet including Libertines and Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty and Plan B, recently crowned Best Male Solo Artist at the 2011 Brit Awards.
They will be joined by X-Factor winner Shayne Ward, actor Danny Dyer, a “The Only Way is Essex” team headed up by Mark Wright and James Argent, “Dancing on Ice” champion Sam Attwell, Tina O’Brien, Louisa Lytton and a number of stars from “Coronation Street”, “The X-Factor”, “Waterloo Road” and “Skins”.
More celebrities are still to be announced and a spokesman for the football club said: “All corporate packages have been taken and well in excess of 2,000 matchday tickets for the event itself have been sold already.
“There has been such a demand that we are looking into the prospect of opening an additional VIP area due to demand. This promises to be an event not to be missed!”
The Soccer Six tournament has become the biggest celebrity based football tournament in the world with previous participants including Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, JLS and Liam Gallagher.
Tickets are £12 for adults, £8 children under 12 and £40 for a family ticket for two adults and three children.
They are on sale from the Turf Moor ticket office, the Burnley FC ticket line on 0871 221 1914 or online at www.burnleyfc.com.
