Two months since last Pendle Covid death

It is now over two months since the last reported death in Pendle from Covid.

There have been no deaths in Pendle within 28 days of a positive Covid test in the last seven days and this has been so for several weeks, with the last death reported on March 5th.

In the last seven days the number of new cases has reduced by half from 32 last week to 16 this week bringing the overall total in Pendle since the start of the pandemic to 9,683.

The rate of infection per 100,000 is 26.1 and the age group with most cases is 20 to 29.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in Pendle within 28 days of a positve test is 239, with a total number of 275 deaths, where Covid-19 is on the death certificate.

Pendle Council continues to urge people to stay safe, not to let down their guard and to follow stay safe rules and advice.
