In the coming weeks, all centres will be thoroughly deep cleaned and staff training will take place to make sure everything is ready to reopen safely in April.

Alison Goode, Chief Executive of Pendle Leisure Trust, said: “This is the news we have been waiting for and we are delighted we can eventually reopen our leisure facilities.

“Being classed in Step 2 shows the Government recognises how important physical activity is for people’s health and well-being – although we are a little frustrated we cannot open all our facilities and activities at the same time.

“Our main priority is our customers and we will once again make sure all the correct procedures are in place so they feel safe to return.”
