New Ribble Valley health scheme launched to boost fitness after lockdown and encourage people to 'let's live life!'

Clitheroe's Roefield Leisure and Longridge Community Gym have joined forces and launched a new partnership encouraging people to look after their health and fitness after lockdowns.

This partnership, called Ribble Valley Health and Wellbeing, is to support the needs of the communities during and after the Covid-19 crisis.

The first scheme that the partnership are please to announce is its "Let’s Live Life" project, which has been specially designed to support everyone across the Ribble Valley who has been adversely effected by the pandemic.

The sessions are suitable and available for anyone with a health condition, beginners to exercise or those who wish to restart exercise following the lockdowns. The affordable community based sessions are priced £25 for a full six weeks of activities, which includes the gym, supported sessions and a range of classes. A free one month access to a "Netflix-style" activity App is also available, plus access to either Roefield Leisure Centre or Longridge Community Gym.

A spokesman said: "Our Netflix style app will provide you with a one month’s free access to our on demand range of activities, which you can take part in at home The project will take place across the two non-for-profit leisure facilities - Roefield Leisure Centre and Longridge Community Gym. Both centres are proud to be UK Active Covid secure, and all instructors

are specially trained to support those who have had Covid-19 or the effects of Long Covid. Active Lancashire and Sport England have provided key support in getting this partnership off the ground for the Ribble Valley."
