A four day extravaganza to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee reignited community spirit in a closeknit Ribble Valley village.

That's the view of Beth Sculpher and Louise Cunningham, the lifelong pals who masterminded the memorable events in Sabden.

These included a carnival parade, village fete, band concert and live music festival, a Royal afternoon tea, street parties and a fun-filled day of sports for all ages.

And the celebration has inspired the duo to plan more events, including a scarecrow festival, a hoe-down, Lancashire Day and Hallowe'en event.
