PENDLE Leisure Centre’s large swimming pool is closed until further notice due to a leak.

The Colne facility was closed almost three weeks ago and since then investigations have been carried out to trace the problem.

Pendle Leisure Trust’s Chief Executive, Phil Storey, said: “A specialist company has been at the centre this week trying to locate the leak, but it is obviously a very difficult process to find something underground.

“We believe it has now been located and will have to start lifting the poolside to get to it.

“We are hoping this will be done as quickly as possible in order to resolve the situation and get the facility up and running again. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

If people have lessons or sessions booked for next week, they should call reception on 661166 for advice or further information.

The small pool is still open as normal and pools at Pendle Wavelengths, Nelson, and West Craven Sports Centre, Barnoldswick, are both open as usual if people wish to use those facilities instead for the time being.
