Anyone with a slice of Holland’s Pies history is being asked if they would like to share it.
The pie firm is celebrating its 160th anniversary and is trying to find memorabilia to feature in an exhibition about its history being staged at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
Any object, large or small, is being considered – from factory machinery to old posters or advertisements. The collators already have their eye on a 40-year-old burnt meat pie.
The exhibition will take visitors through the story of Holland’s Pies and is on from November 11th to February 12th.
Pie expert and historian Tom Bridge said: “Holland’s Pies has been at the heart of the community for 160 years and is a brand that many people have fond memories of from their childhood and still hold very close to their hearts to this day.
“We’re calling on everybody in Burnley to search their homes to see if they have a piece of Holland’s history that would be worthy of featuring in the exhibition in Manchester at the end of the year.”
Anyone with memorabilia is asked to send a picture or description of the item to firstname.lastname@example.org or to Holland’s Pies Memorabilia Search, Holland’s Pies, Baxenden, Accrington, Lancashire, BB5 2SA. Pictures or descriptions can also be uploaded to the Holland’s Facebook page and on Twitter.
