Poppies to bloom in Nelson for First World War tribute

Nelson Town Council has agreed to donate the sum of £200 to the Nelson and District Branch of the Royal British Legion at the request of its chairman, George Adam.

The Legion intends to sow a large number poppy seeds on the Hard Platts as part of a national scheme organised by the British Legion in association the B&Q DIY chain.

Nelson In Bloom will also be sowing poppy seeds in other locations throughout the town.
