DARING thieves broke into a Colne mill after climbing 20ft onto a roof.

Offenders are thought to have used a drainpipe to scale Standroyd Mill in Cotton Tree Lane, where they smashed a window and lowered themselves into a workshop.

An alarm was triggered and they made off with a handful of model cars worth hundreds of pounds each.

The 81-year-old owner of the workshop is said to have been upset by the theft which took place between September 24th and 25th.
