Air cadets march to mark RAF anniversary

Air cadets from Burnley and Pendle will help to mark the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.

Up to 150 cadets and staff from the Cumbria and Lancashire Wing of the RAF Air Cadets will form up on the former Thompson Centre car park at 9-45am on Sunday from where they will march along Centenary Way arriving around 10-15am at St Peter’s Church, alongside civic dignitaries, the North Region Band and squadron banners.

Invited guests include Dennis Menderos, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Andrew Stephenson Pendle MP, and mayors from Burnley, Blackburn, Pendle and Rossendale.

The RAF, formed on April 1st 1918 is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
