It’s a year since the tragic death of Burnley 16-year-old Declan Edwards sent shockwaves through the community.
The popular Unity College student was found hanged in secluded woodland in Burnley after going missing days earlier after meeting up with friends.
Young and old alike had joined forces in the days after his disappearance to search for Declan and hundreds turned up for his funeral at St Catherine’s Church, Burnley . At the Unity College prom event, dozens of purple balloons were released in his memory.
Declan, who had attended Brunshaw Primary School, was a keen Burnley FC fan and was due to attend Futsal trials at Turf Moor just days before his body was found.
