Architectural firm takes ‘best newcomer’ award

A Burnley architectural firm founded by a former student at Nelson and Colne College has been identified as the best newcomer in the field.

Saira Hussain (26) started Hussain Architectural Design in 2011 after graduating from Huddersfield University.

In addition to its head office in Standish Street the firm now operates in Blackburn, Huddersfield and Manchester.

Miss Hussain runs the concern with fellow practice manager Nixie Edwards. “We’re so ecstatic to have won such a prestigious award that showcases our business,” she said. “It’s amazing to have recognition for all the hard work and dedication we’ve put in over the last few years.” Added Miss Edwards: “It’s overwhelming to see passion, time, and effort get noticed and awarded.

“We’re really proud to be part of this industry, and love to find architectural solutions to the challenges that our clients may face.”

The award for Best Newcoming Architecture Company 2015 was made after a nationwide search by in Build Magazine.

The eight-man panel assessed technical innovation, design and service.
