A group of artists, who first got together 50 years ago, are celebrating the special anniversary with a major exhibition of their work.

Pendle Artists was formed by students who were studying at what was then Burnley Municipal College in 1968.

Their birthday exhibition is being held at Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham and there are around 90 paintings on display with a selection of pottery and three dimensional pieces.

The exhibition launched this week and runs until Sunday, June 10th. The hall is open from Wednesday to Sunday and the opening times are noon to 5pm.

Later in the year, the group will be holding a two day event at Barley on Saturday and Sunday, July 7th and 8th and then at Pendle Heritage Centre in Barrowford from Sunday, October 21st to Sunday, November 4th.
