The borough’s bin collectors will be out bagging your rubbish earlier in some parts of Pendle on Thursday with the goal of being back in time to watch England’s big match.
Refuse and recycling rounds are taking place an hour earlier to allow football fans on the crews the chance to watch England’s crunch Euro 2016 clash with Wales.
Residents in the North Valley and Barrowford Road areas of Colne are being asked to put their recycling out any time from 6pm the night before on Wednesday and up to 6am on Thursday.
And residents of the Every Street area of Nelson together with the villages of Higham and Fence are being asked to put their refuse out for collection the night before, on Wednesday or by 6am on Thursday.
David Walker, Pendle Council’s Waste Services Resources Manager, said: “Collections in just these areas will be starting an hour earlier than normal in order to allow some of our football enthusiasts to watch the match.
“We appreciate the change of timing may cause some residents a problem.
“If any bins are missed, residents can let us know and we will return and make sure they get the collection service,” he added.
