Hide AdKatie, who works for the emergency services, completed a 750m. swim, followed by a 20km. bike ride around Pendle and finished with a 5km. run.
She said: “Jack and I wanted to give something back to Pendleside as it provided great care for our brave mum throughout her second battle with cancer, which she sadly lost at the age of 62.
“Hospice staff not only provided my mum with affection and much needed laughs, they also fed and housed us for a week in her final days, so we could spend it how she wanted, by her side.
“The support, reassurance and personal relationships built in that week made the most awful experience more manageable. I cannot put a price on the gratitude I feel.”

He said: “The strength mum showed and ability to smile in the face of adversity will live with me forever and continually make me proud. She couldn’t have done this without the love, care and attention of Pendleside staff.”
