A drive-thru Burger King could be set to open at Burnley’s Reel Cinema.
Plans to demolish the cinema’s circular foyer and replace it with the popular fast food chain have been submitted to Burnley Council.
Under the proposals, the existing car park would lose 15 parking spaces to make way for the drive-thru, which will operate just a few yards away from The Hollywood Star pub restaurant.
Burger King last served up Whoppers in the town centre back in the early 90s before Skipton Building Society moved into its St James’s Street building. A Burger King restaurant did replace the Little Chef on Barracks roundabout but closed around five years ago.
