Twenty-two jobs have been created for residents as Britain’s largest pet supplies retailer prepares to bring a store to Colne.
Pets at Home will open its doors in the Corporation Street retail park on Friday, March 20th.
The 9,800 sq. ft. store will include a Vets4Pets practice, a Groom Room and an Adoption Centre. The Vets4Pets practice will house a full operating theatre, digital X-ray facilities, in-house laboratory and a hospital ward providing a full range of treatments from health checks to emergency operations, while the Groom Room will offer a wide range of services including full grooming, bath and blow dry, puppy grooming and nail clipping.
Area manager Gill Parry said: “There was a strong demand from Colne pet owners for Pets at Home to come to town, and we’re very pleased to have been able to grant them their wish.
“Pets at Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Colne. They’re all extremely passionate about pets and can’t wait to get started.”
Pets at Home will provide thousands of dedicated pet products, catering for local dogs, cats, small animals, chickens, reptiles, birds and fish as well as wildlife.
It is aiming to make a difference to the local pet community by partnering with animal charities from the Colne area via its independent charity Support Adoption For Pets.
Store manager Neil Farr said: “Our mission is to ensure that pets live a happy and healthy life. We’d love to hear from any animal charities and re-homing centres in the area so we can talk to them about Support Adoption For Pets and how we can help them.”
