Planning applications for two major housing developments in Foulridge have been turned down by Pendle councillors.

Members of the Colne and District Committee refused planning permission for nine houses on land at the rear of the village vicarage in Skipton Road, saying that the proposed access to the site from Burwains Avenue was inadequate.

And permission for an apartment block on the former railway sidings in Station Road was refused because of the impact the development would have on local residential amenity.
