Gleeson is inviting the Nelson community to comment on a new housing development the company plans to build on the former Jimmy Nelson Sports Club ground in the Southfield area of the town.
As part of the consultation process the Bury based housebuilder is holding a community event on the 13th October at St John’s Church Centre to display their proposed plans and speak to residents about the type of new homes to be built, the range of Gleeson schemes available to help people purchase their new home and the positive impact new homes can have on a community.
Gleeson, who specialises in building low cost homes for local people, is proposing to build 106 much needed new homes on the site just off Wickworth Street, which will create new jobs and homes for local people.
Sarah Marsden, Sales Director for Gleeson Homes explains, “Gleeson specialise in purchasing clearance sites on which we build 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi & detached homes. Because our prices are so affordable a large proportion of our customers are local people who previously rented their homes but can now afford to buy.”
Sarah adds, “Every community in which we build is different and we always hold community events prior to the submission of the planning document so we can speak to local people and, if possible, review our plans to better meet the needs of the community.”
The consultation event will take place between 3 amd 6pm with Nelson residents invited to ‘drop-in’ to meet with Gleeson employees and learn more about the proposed new homes.
