Outline plans for a major housing development on the site of a house straddling the boundary between Pendle and Burnley have been approved by Pendle Council’s Brierfield and Reedley Committee.

The application envisages the demolition of a large house in Colne Road and the construction of 18 assorted dwellings ranging from two-bedroom apartments to eight-bedroom houses.

All but two of the houses would lie within Burnley, said a report to the meeting from planning officer Lee Greenwood.
