The potential development, at 500 Colne Road, will see the existing property demolished and replaced by two eight-bedroom houses, two four-bedroom maisonettes, four three-bedroom maisonettes, four two-bedroom apartments and six detached mews houses.

In addition, the site, which straddles the Burnley and Pendle border, will have two access routes to Colne Road, an amended 34 to 36 car parking spaces, six of which will be disabled, a nine capacity bicycle rack, four capacity motorcycle rack, grassed areas and a pond.

Sixteen of the planned properties are on land under the control of Burnley Council, who have already approved the development subject to conditions.

Pendle Council has received four objections to the plans from nearest neighbours, but due to Burnley Council’s decision, it is uncertain how much bearing thiese will have on Pendle Council’s decision.
