Nelson office shutters are ‘wrong design’

A CREDIT union has not responded to a Pendle Council request for an alternative design for roller shutters installed at its office, says a council report.

Members of the council’s Nelson Committee deferred a decision over a retrospective application from Pendle Community Credit Union for solid shutters at its office in Manchester Road at its September meeting to give the applicants time to submit a new plan for latticed or slatted shutters which they said would be more acceptable, as at other shops in the area.

But a report from case officer Lee Greenwood to the committee’s meeting on Monday says the union has not responded to the council and therefore recommends members to refuse planning permission.
