Salterforth’s Anchor Inn has a new landlord who is looking forward to the historic pub’s latest chapter.

Peter Loftus and wife Nicola have taken over the reigns and are excited about becoming part of the village’s buzzing community.

The couple, who were previously at the Lord Nelson at Langho for five years, have settled in to life by the canal and have a new chef and a new menu with specials and football on TV.

Peter said: “The location was key, right by the canal. That will mean a good mix of people, those who are travelling through and visiting and then your locals and regulars.

“We’ve found the people here to be lovely and really friendly.

“We did quite a few charity nights at the Lord Nelson and raised quite a but of money. Hopefully we can carry that on.

“There is the Salterforth Fun Day which we would like to get involved with and we would like to do something to mark the canal’s bicentenary next year. We have also sponsored the local football team, The Pendle Renegades.”
