Councillors have deferred a decision on a hybrid planning application for the development of the site of the demolished Reedyford Mill in Pendle Street, Nelson.

Members of Pendle Council’s Nelson Committee had been recommended to pass outline plans to erect 65 houses and commercial floor space as well as a full application to build a petrol station on the Pendle Street site at their meeting on Monday.

But they were told Lancashire County Council had submitted comments on the matter that afternoon and therefore decided to defer their decision to allow these to be considered.
