Car set on fire after crash

A car was set on fire after crashing into a fence in Brierfield.

The incident occurred at 11-30pm last night in High Street when a Nissan Micra collided with the fence and was then set on fire deliberately, police said.

Six or seven occupants were witnessed fleeing the scene of the blazing vehicle and the fire service were called out to extinguish the fire.

Anybody with any information on the incident is asked to call police on 101.
