Witnesses are being urged to step forward after £600 worth of euros was stolen from a pensioner’s bag on the Blackpool South to Colne train service.
British Transport Police officers want to speak to anybody who may have seen the crime on Monday, December 29th. It happened between 2-30pm and 3pm, between Blackburn and Accrington.
Investigating officer PC Peter Wilcock said: “A 79-year-old man boarded the train at Preston and sat in the front coach. He left the train at Blackburn, forgetting his bag which he left behind.
“Somewhere between Blackburn and Accrington around £600 worth of euros was stolen from the bag which was later handed into the train cleaner.”
