A quirky hairstylist from Nelson is making waves in the industry, as she uses her colourful knowledge to showcase her creative talent.

Rachel Mason (34) acquired her salon in Leeds Road from her mum Aileen who previously owned the salon for 15 years.

Rachel is a former Nelson and Colne College apprentice and has worked up and down the country for top brands including Fudge, Joico and St Tropez. She has not only retained clients, but has grown the business and its reputation too, attracting a new audience with her creative colouring techniques.

Rachel said: “I’ve grown up in the hairdressing industry; working in my mum’s shop since the age of 12 and then working as an apprentice for her. My love for hairdressing developed, and I’ve worked with some top name brands throughout my career. I absolutely love to colour and be creative.

“Since taking over the salon, I’ve been working hard to introduce people to colouring and styles they may not have considered. While keeping with the traditional styles, I also offer colour creations for clients.”
