A businessman from Barrowford has returned from a volunteering trip to Uganda with the Bumba Foundation.
Owner of MBS Corporate Advisory, David Roberts spent his time in Africa getting hand-on with the foundation, which builds and staffs schools whilst funding orphans and poor families to access education.
Sponsored by CoolKit, a refrigerated vehicle conversion company, David was accompanied by his daughter Maddie (16) and her friend William Towneley, who themselves raised £2,500 for St Christopher’s High in Accrington where they study.
“We had a life changing experience,” said David. “We worked hard, lived in a Ugandan village, danced, and made lasting friendships.
"Every one of us would go back tomorrow!”
