The 1st Trawden Brownies offered a helping hand to a local charity by carrying out the massive task of posting over 1,000 newsletters to members and supporters.
The group was invited to help out at HAPPA by the charity’s development officer Julie Rickwood-Gan and 11 girls, one young leader and three leaders gave up their Sunday to volunteer and complete the challenge with aplomb.
It is the second time the Brownies have done this and by doing so means that HAPPA staff do not have to be taken away from carrying out their essential work with the rehabilitation of equines in their care.
Brownies leader Louise Bleasdale said: “We had a great time working as a team and singing while we worked.
“We were treated to yummy sandwiches made freshly for us by the staff of The Scullery to keep us going and then were rewarded by a tour to catch up on how the horses and ponies currently on site were getting on.
“We were especially fortunate to be able to watch and learn why one of the equines was prescribed a special back massage to aid his recovery and well-being.”
