Two charities have had an additional boost after proceeds from Kelbrook’s annual art exhibition exceeded expectations.

The art exhibition held in Kelbrook and Sough Village Hall over the Bank Holiday weekend in August saw approximately 300 pieces of art go on display in front of hundreds of visitors.

Fifty-four of the works on show were sold but it was the home-made refreshments which proved more popular than ever which really swelled the amount taken over the course of the three days.

And due to an increase of £300 profit made at the art exhibition, the committee was able to donate a total of £1,400 to the nominated charities for 2016, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Pendleside Hospice, which has been split equally.

The raffle prize was won by Mrs Patricia Dick, of Barnoldswick, who has received her watercolour painting of Iris donated by Jackie Barker of the Barnoldswick Art Group.

Cheque presentations have now been held and the organising committee who would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this the most successful exhibition yet.
