Pendle residents are being encouraged to make sure they are registered to vote now so that they can have their say in May’s elections.
All households in Pendle will shortly receive a form setting out who is registered to vote at each address, according to Pendle Council records.
Residents are asked to check their details are correct.
They only need to take action if something is wrong on the form.
Gillian Turpin, Elections Manager, said: “Following changes last year to the way individuals register to vote, it’s important that everyone who will be over 18 on election day, Thursday May 7th, checks their details on the form we send them to ensure they will be able to use their vote.
“Anyone whose details are missing can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, or call the elections team on 661919 or 661662 for help.”
The elections this May will decide Pendle’s MP for the next five years, and see borough and town and parish councillors elected too.
