Clitheroe students celebrate A-Level results

Weeks of waiting paid off for hundreds of A-Level students across the Ribble Valley on Thursday morning as their results were finally revealed.

Many had stars in their eyes as their hard work over the past two years was rewarded when they secured places at universities up and down the UK.

At Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, three relieved students said they were looking forward to going out celebrating tonight.

Alick McCallum has secured a place at Warwick University to study English with creative writing, with his results of three As and one B, while Ryan Ryan Monk is going to Cambridge to study English. He got an A* two As and 1B. Meanwhile, Katie Rapson got an A* two Bs and one C and is looking forward to studying Zoology at Bristol University.

All three told the Clitheroe Advertiser that they were relieved to have been able to pick up their results from 8 am this morning and were feeling very positive about the future.
