It would be enough to make some fans squeal with excitement.

But a Colne girl, named only as Rose, remained calm and composed when she received a surprise phone call from her favourite comedian and former Big Brother’s Big Mouth host Jack Whitehall.

Aired on Monday night as part of BBC Radio One’s “Star Caller”, Rose enjoyed a banter-fuelled and informative chat with the Bad Education star. She even managed to make him blush with a story of how her friend had sat on his knee during an Ibiza holiday, and unveiled his childhood love of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

When asked by Rose when he would next be in the area, Jack joked: “I’m playing at the Colne Hippodrome next week and that’s why I picked you... no no I’m not playing at Colne.

“I’ve just been in Manchester for like two-and-a-half months filming Fresh Meat. I will be in Manchester next year in March playing the MEN Arena (now the Phones 4U Arena), so you can come to that.”

Speaking to Radio One Presenter Greg James following her dream chat, Rose said: “It was brilliant, I really enjoyed it.”
