A Colne photographer who went to Romania in 1992 with the charity Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire will be telling the story behind his pictures at a special event this weekend.
“It was a tense time,” explains Matt Gartside. “It was only two years after the execution of hated communist dictator Ceaucescu. Foreigners with cameras were viewed with suspicion. I had to smuggle my camera into the country.”

Matt is also hoping to raise money for Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire who continue to work in Romania today.
