COLNE: Woman (70) dies after supermarket car smash

A PENSIONER from Colne has died in hospital three days after crashing her vehicle in a supermarket car park.

Police said the 70-year-old woman was driving a Renault Scenic which crashed into two stationary vehicles at around 12-15 p.m. on February 13th.

The accident happened in the car park of Morrison’s supermarket in Broughton Road, Skipton.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Airedale General Hospital where she later died.

A post mortem revealed that the woman took ill at the wheel of the car and died of natural causes, not as a result of the collision.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any other information that could help the investigation.
