Pendle Council’s Executive will meet on Tuesday to take the first steps in deciding the council tax figure for Pendle in 2015/16.

Officers are recommending an increase in Pendle’s share of the tax of 1.99%, thus meeting the Government’s ceiling on rises of 2%.

If agreed, the rise would mean an increase of £2.41 a year in the tax paid by Band A householders (6p per week) and £4.78 per year (9p per week) by Band D householders.

The council tax will be set at the full council meeting on Thursday, February 19th.

l A report to the meeting shows that eight of the parish and town councils will not impose precepts on residents in 2015/16.

Barrowford, Brierfield, Earby, Laneshaw Bridge, Old Laund Booth, Roughlee, Salterforth and Trawden will not add precepts to bills, while people living in the following areas will pay precepts as follows (Band D figures): Barnoldswick (£47.57), Blacko (£22.24), Colne (£34.69), Foulridge (£23.30), Goldshaw Booth (£40.02), Higham (£32.73), Nelson (£10) and Reedley Hallows (£11.63)
