Two men have appeared before Burnley magistrates, accused of an attempted knifepoint robbery at the alleged victim’s own home in the town.

Paul Warburton (43), of Hunslett Street and Gavin Sturgeon (33), of Leyland Road, both Burnley, are said to have tried to rob the man of a bank card and £300.

They are accused of attempted robbery and making threats to kill. Their case will be heard at Burnley Crown Court at a later date.
