A Burnley pensioner appeared at the town’s crown court, accused of five sexual allegations, said to have been committed some years ago.

Jack Bell (77), of Hogarth Avenue, denied three charges of sexual assault, one allegation of indecent assault and one count of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place in Burnley. He will face trial at a later date and was bailed.
