Detectives are trying to piece together what happened to a Clitheroe woman who was found unconscious in a flat at Darwen.
Yolande Pendlebury (40), of Clitheroe, is now in a critical condition at the Royal Blackburn Hospital after she was discovered in the Kay Street flat shortly after 4 pm on Saturday, April 11th.
She had last been seen by a friend an hour earlier about 3pm on the car park at Darwen Railway Station, but what happened in the next hour remains a mystery.
Police are appealing for help to try to find out how she came to be in the Kay Street flat and how she came to be unconscious as she had not appeared to suffer any obvious injury.
Detectives want to trace a man who may have been with Yolande before the ambulance arrived. He is described as white, aged in his 20s to early 30s, 5ft. 8in. tall, of medium build, with short brown hair, and wearing a blue jacket and jeans.
Yolande is described as white, with long brown hair, and slim build. She was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, brown knee-length boots and carrying a brown shoulder bag.
Det. Insp. Marie Haworth, of East CID, said: “We need the public’s help to piece together what happened to Yolande after she was left by her friend at 3pm. How did she come to be in that flat and how did she come to be unconscious?
“If anyone saw Yolande during that time or has any information which could help us then I would urge them to contact the police.”
